Siel Bleu internationally: a look back at the highlights of 2025

A key year for Siel Bleu's European development

In 2025, the Siel Bleu Association strengthened its international development around a core belief: Adapted Physical Activity (APA) is a powerful tool (but not the only one we use! We'll tell you more about that very soon) for sustainably improving health, preventing loss of independence, and strengthening social inclusion.

Through our European projects, we are working to change practices, encourage preventive healthcare, and offer concrete solutions to the challenges of aging, chronic diseases, and unequal access to physical activity.

Moov&Smile: promoting a European culture of prevention through movement

Produced as part of the Moov&Smile project, this motion design video highlights Siel Bleu's activities in Europe and the central role of movement in preventive healthcare.

It draws on studies, data, and field observations to demonstrate the impact of adapted physical activity and highlight the urgent need to shift our societies toward more preventive, inclusive, and sustainable models. Link here: https://youtu.be/fjLtj-ORgIQ?si=02vciF0m7sYGJ9nF

SHAPE Project: Preventing Post-Hospitalization Deconditioning

The SHAPE project, selected as part of the European Interreg Sudoe program and co-financed by the European Union, brings together more than 30 partners around a major challenge: combating the physical deconditioning that occurs during hospital stays, particularly among the elderly.
Over a period of 36 months, a study involving 500 patients will test an innovative program based onAPA, with the aim of subsequently rolling out a model that can be replicated on a large scale.

Portugal: supporting caregivers with the Fidelidade project

Siel Bleu Portugal has developed a project dedicated to caregivers, in partnership withAssociação Cuidadores as part of the Prémio Fidelidade Comunidade award.
A total of 63 people benefited from support combining adapted physical activity, group sessions, and psychosocial support.

This initiative demonstrates a strong commitment to caring for those who care for others by enhancing their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Germany: official recognition as a gGmbH

In 2025, Siel Bleu Germany obtained official gGmbH status (non-profit organization).
This recognition opens up access to new funding opportunities, authorizes the receipt of donations, and provides tax benefits, thereby strengthening the impact and sustainability of Siel Bleu's actions in Germany.

Ireland: a community health program in partnership with the public service

Siel Bleu Ireland has launched a 12-week community program for people living with chronic illness, in partnership with the Health Service Executive (HSE), Ireland's public health system.

ThroughAPA sessions, physical and psychosocial assessments, and an educational component, the program aims to improve physical fitness, prevent deconditioning, and enhance well-being and social connection.

Impact report: 28 years of commitment in perspective

The launch of the first Impact Report by the Siel Bleu Association was a highlight of the year. Designed as an immersive experience, this event brought together partners and teams to celebrate 28 years of social impact, while highlighting Siel Bleu's international development in six European countries.
Beyond the figures, this report reminds us of the essential: measuring impact also means listening to beneficiaries, valuing the work in the field, and affirming a more human vision of health and prevention.

Building a more active, more preventive, and more inclusive Europe

These highlights illustrate Siel Bleu's ability to act on a European scale while remaining true to our founding values.
Supporting Siel Bleu means choosing a clear direction: that of a world where no one is left behind, where everyone can remain active, independent, and connected through movement.

So contact us to start discussing opportunities for working together!
